No, this isn’t the guy who’s name is Earl and one of the contributors of turning a perfectly good trio of chipmunks into a mediocre franchise of movies. This Jason Lee is releasing his first album, Fruit, which is fittingly discusses the fruit of Galatians. While this subject is executed well by B3AR Fruit, Jason definitely gives it a shot.

While Lee’s flow is good but still could use some work, the music mix of hip hop, electronic, & rock don’t quite mesh together well on this album. The best track is “Love,” which has a nice rock feel to it and good use of female vocals throughout. This style of hip hop, however, would’ve been great when released in the heyday of Christian rap alongside dc Talk & Audio Adrenaline’s earliest material. With some maturity in lyrics and a revamp musically, Jason Lee’s next effort might be something definitely worth checking out.
