Indie Spotlight Review: John Ball – Found Among The Broken

You know how they say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover?  Well, when it comes to music, the opposite is often true, as oftentimes you can just look at the cover art and tell what you’re about to get, even if you’re not totally sure of the quality.  When you look at the cover art for “Found Among The Broken”, does it really come as a surprise that what you’re getting is a relatively soft spoken, introspective indie rock/singer-songwriter acoustic side project from John Ball, the bassist for Come & Live band The Sleep Design?  The Birmingham native recently came out with his debut solo EP with an effort to be real with how he sees life and what you see is what you get, as Found Among The Broken reflects the life of the believer, with times of struggle, trial and worship.  You can check it out for yourself at John Ball’s website.
