Owl City’s Adam Young Stands Up For The Thrifty

Adam Young noticed that his new album, “All Things Bright And Beautiful”, seemed a bit overpriced at iTunes, so he did this:

Dearest friends,

I have exciting news. Three days ago when All Things Bright and Beautiful hit the online shelves at iTunes, I was slightly dismayed to see that the record was priced at $11.99 (for a thrifty guy like myself, it seemed pretty steep for an LP). Thus, after a friendly bout of spirited discussion between my record label, iTunes, management and everyone else involved, I’m happy to announce that the album is now appropriately priced at $9.99! This is much better, am I right?

Additional good news to those of you who’ve ALREADY purchased a copy of the new record! Your account will be credited. iTunes will be in touch via email in the coming days with details.

So happy about this! To all who haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy of All Things Bright and Beautiful, now is your chance! I’m thrilled about this new chapter in the Owl City story and I’m even more excited to share it with you.

See you on the road!

Much love,
Adam

Of course, Amazon has had it cheaper than even that all along.

That is REALLY awesome of him. That’s the only reason I didn’t buy it.
